Embiid’s Charitable Efforts Lead to NBA Support for Covenant House

The NBA announced yesterday that Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has received the March NBA Cares Community Assist Award in recognition of his efforts to address youth homelessness and housing insecurity in Philadelphia. Each month, the award recognizes a player who best reflects the passion that the league and NBA players share for giving back to their communities. In honor of Embiid’s efforts, the NBA will be donating $10,000 to Covenant House Pennsylvania, an organization that serves homeless youth.

“It’s a huge honor to receive the NBA Cares Community Assist Award,” said Embiid. “Giving back and using the platform I have to create positive change in the city I love has always been important to me. Covenant House Pennsylvania is doing amazing work, and they are an incredibly deserving recipient of this $10,000 donation. I will continue to give back to those in my community who are less fortunate and I look forward to delivering a championship to Philadelphia and the best fans in the world.”

CAMCO is a proud supporter of Covenant House, and we are proud of Joel Embiid for his efforts to give back in the Philadelphia Community!
